I know this is an older fork, but to get this travel, performance, and weight (very light for 34mm stanchions and 140mm travel) at €200 or less with a discount is such a great value. It's basically a Fox with less adjustable damper and a few minor downgrades like a plastic cap covering the Schrader valve. I replaced a really low-end RST spring fork on my hardtail eMTB and it was an easy swap with very good setup instructions from Marzocchi. I definitely "over forked" the bike with the 140mm increase over the stock 100mm, which has affected the steering but is only noticeable at extreme angles (44mm offset vs. 38mm also contributed). I haven't had a chance to do any extreme testing, but it's a huge improvement at such a low cost that I wish I had done it earlier.

While searching for a reasonable replacement fork for my worn-out Rock Shox Reba RL in my Specialized Epic EVO, I came across the Marzocchi . I had the Z2 in my 26" hardtail over 20 years ago (it replaced an RS Judy at the time), although of course the current model has nothing to do with the old one. What remains, however, is the impression of holding something of absolutely high quality in my hands, and the workmanship is worlds apart from the Reba RL. The same goes for the riding experience on the first ride, compared to the Reba when it was still in top condition, of course. If you're looking for a top XC fork with Fox that is simpler and therefore easier to maintain at a great price, the Z2 is 100% the right choice. The slight increase in weight of around 150 grams compared to the RS Reba is negligible. Otherwise: great service from the shop, highly recommended!
